Candylicious in Dubai Mall

Page update - Sep 30, 2022

The world's largest candy, chocolate and other sweets store is located in the Dubai Mall in the United Arab Emirates. The Candylicious store is worth a visit just only to see how big a candy store can be. Admission is free, you don't have to buy anything at all, and you don't have to walk far.

As of September 2022, the Candylicious store is open as are most stores in the Dubai Mall. Starting September 28, 2022, masks are no longer required to be worn in malls and stores, hotels, cafes and restaurants in the UAE. You can now walk around Candylicious without a mask and without the risk of a fine.

How to find Candylicious in Dubai Mall

It's easy. You will certainly want to see the Dubai Mall Aquarium, as it is the main attraction of the mall.

Visitors watch into the aquarium through a huge glass panel. You walk up to the glass and see corals, fish, sharks and stingrays in front of you. Now turn 180 degrees and find the Candylicious store is in front of you. Watch how the entrance looks like in the photo near, click on the photo to enlarge.

Facts and figures

The area of the store is about 11,840 square feet (1,100 square meters), which is the world's record. The second record is the number of sorts of sweets. The administration claims to sell more than 5,000 sorts of candies, chocolates, and sweets.

An interesting fact is that the Arabs have nothing to do with this store. The Candylicious brand is owned by a company from Singapore. Most of the Candylicious stores are located in Southeast Asia. The Candylicious brand slogan is 'Eat Happy'.

There are two large Candylicious stores in the UAE. The first one is in Dubai Mall, and the second largest store is in Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi.

Find your flight

The Candylicious store at the Dubai Mall has candies from all over the world. Most of the shelves are occupied by US sweets. Hershey's is advertised in the store very actively, and there is a huge variety of M&M's products.

We think the variety of M&M's there is even more than in the US. The M&M's candies come in hundreds of different packages and dozens of different kinds. If you are a fan of M&M's, then you can't miss Candylicious.

The Candylicious store at the Dubai Mall also has a mini branch, let's call it that. It's a little electric car that circles around the mall, it's called the Candylicious Car. It performs two functions. First, it sells candy to everyone who wants it. Secondly, it serves as a mobile advertisement, reminding all visitors to Dubai Mall not to forget to visit the main store.

There are many things to do in the main store. We counted 6 things tourists should do at Candylicious.

The first is to look at the chocolate tree

This tree stands at the entrance of the store. The trunk is made of chocolate and the leaves are made of candy.

The width of the branches spread reaches 33 feet (10 meters). Some websites on the Internet say that the height is also 33 feet (10 meters), but this is not true. The ceiling height in the pavilions of the Dubai Mall is 19.5 feet (6 meters), the tree can not be taller than this level. The height is 19.5 feet.

The tree stands right next to the main entrance of the store, you will not miss it. And it is impossible to confuse it with anything else. Taking a photo against the chocolate tree is the main local tourist attraction.

Many tourists ask, "Is it really made of chocolate?" It is difficult to say for sure, because the store employees did not let us check. But we bet that it is made of plastic. The weight of the structure is quite large, and the branches and trunks are too thin. After all, chocolate is a bad construction material.

The second is to take a photo in front of the Candylicious airplane

This is the second popular place for tourists to take pictures. There are always M&M's advertising characters or plush toys sitting in the plane. See the photo. Unfortunately, you can't take a picture of a child in the plane, the store employees don't allow it.

The third is to pick up candy at the 'Pick and Mix' wall

Pick and Mix is a format for selling sweets which is common in Europe and America, and insanely popular in Asia. We think you already met Pick and Mix in your life, but surely not so large.

Different kinds of sweets are placed in containers or cylinders. All of these sweets are sold for one price. You take a bag and fill yourself up with as many different kinds as you want. Then you weigh it and pay for it.

The Candylicious store at the Dubai Mall has the largest Pick and Mix wall in the world. There are 250 candy items. You can see it in the photo near, click on the photo to enlarge.

There is no minimum of one kind of candy. That is, you can easily take in a bag of one candy of each kind. As we recommend. The main idea of the Pick and Mix system is variety. That's why it became very popular in Asia. People in Asia like to eat variously and not necessarily a lot.

Fourth is to order a chocolate bar with your picture

You can do it near the entrance of the store. You will immediately be photographed with a plush toy or one of your favorite sweets. And in a couple of minutes you will hold in your hands a 100 grams bar of chocolate with your photo.

You can see how it looks like in the photo below, click on the photo to enlarge. It makes a great souvenir from the United Arab Emirates.

The Candylicious store not only sells sweets, but also produces them locally. If you want, you can order candy of any taste, any shape and in any package through their website on the Internet. It is also possible to put a decor - any picture. This service is popular with companies that order candy for corporate gifts.

Any tourist can make such an order. Just make it out in advance even before the trip to Dubai. Minimum turnaround time is 7 days, maximum is 21 days. You can order candy in advance and pick it up during your trip to the UAE.

The fifth is to look at candy cooking

Candy is made from sugar right in front of the customers. This entertainment is called 'Bake-a-licious'. You can eat the candy was just cooked.

Sixth is buy some 'I love Dubai' candy

This candy is usually on sale at Candylicious. It is one of Dubai's most popular souvenirs.

Traditionally they are white in color and shaped like a cylinder. One end shows the flag of the United Arab Emirates or the inscription 'UAE'. On the opposite end, the inscription 'I love Dubai' where the word love is replaced by a heart.

To be honest, the candies don't have any extraordinary taste. It's just a colourful souvenir which is nice to take home and hand out to friends and relatives.

In addition to these sweets, the store has many other souvenir products. These are themed T-shirts with inscriptions about candy in English. For example, 'Working for candy' or 'All I need is chocolate'.

Also at the entrance is a large stand with plush toys, most of which are in the shape of candy and lollipops. In front of them is a large sign that reads, "This is not candy, don't eat it".

The Candylicious store hosts birthdays and other celebrations, and even corporate parties. The store makes money by any means necessary. It would seem that there are sweets in every form. The first thing you would expect to see there is a chocolate fountain. But there is no chocolate fountain there.
